Use Aromatic Salt Scrubs to Exfoliate Body Skin

One of the most effective Aromatic body treatments for stimulating circulation is the salt scrub. The salt scrub is also highly effective at removing dirt and dead skin cells (exfoliating body skin) revealing soft and glowing skin after the treatment. After an Aromatic salt scrub treatment your skin should start producing its own natural secretions and be more efficient at accepting the essential oils applied following your new salt glow.

When creating an effective Aromatic salt scrub stay clear of Epsom salt and use a fine-to-medium-sized sea salt. Anything too coarse will scratch or damage the skin.

Making an Aromatic Salt Scrub is fairly simple. Mix 2 cups of sea salt with 1/2 cup of a natural vegetable oil of your choice (almond, apricot or sunflower oil works well in a sea salt scrub). Add 7 to 25 drops of favorite essential oil or create a specific targeted problem synergy of essential oils. The total drops you end up using will depend upon the essential oils you choose and the strength desired. Stir all the ingredients up well using a wooden spoon. Place the mixture in a pretty jar of your choice. Mason jars work well for this. Don't forget to label it with date of preparation and ingredients.

When you get ready to use your Aromatic Salt Scrub, follow a few simple directions:

  1. Wet your skin thoroughly in the shower
  2. Turn off the water
  3. Apply the salt scrub to desired area or areas using quick, vigorous strokes or for a more relaxing experience, use longer, slower strokes. It is most important to keep your motions going circular and moving.
  4. Rinse the mixture from body by taking a warm shower.
  5. Avoid using salt scrubs on the face. Facial skin is too delicate and more prone to scratching.
  6. Be sure to dry off well. Now apply an Aromatic oil or lotion to continue feeding your new exfoliated skin.
